Preparing for an immigration interview is one of the most crucial aspects in the immigration process. This is the opportunity for a CIC or CBSA officer to meet and analyse a person who they only know via paper. Although a paper application can be extremely strong and convincing, an in-person interview can easily turn against the applicant’s favor if he or she  is not prepared. The applicant’s demeanor can upset the officer or information provided in the interview can not match the information in the actual application package. It is truly a pity if an application is refused at the interview stage simply because the applicant got confused with the information requested and provided.

Hence, it is extremely crucial to be 100% prepared for an interview before you go for it and handle the interview confidently. It is important that an applicant and/or appellant has reviewed the application package they have submitted and answer all the questions asked truthfully. An answer can be a lie if the individual believes that it is the right thing to say at the moment. However, this can have a grave impact on the application, which can be denied for misrepresentation and the applicant can be barred from Canada due to it.
